According to job-search site @CareerBuilder, the hottest job for college-educated people in the U.S. is marketing executive. Careerbuilder and Economic Modeling Specialists International (EMSI) found there was a 23,000 gap between 34,600 unduplicated average monthly job postings and 11,600 jobs filled for marketing executives- a bigger gap than any other position requiring a college degree. Despite @ProcterGamble and @Unilever cutting marketer positions, EMSI found that ranks of marketing executives have grown by 10% in the last 5 years, with a median annual income of $119,000. However, one reason for this gap is because employers aren’t finding what they want in the market. Analytics, data skills, and CRM (customer relationship management) are especially prized for marketing roles. Tech/e-commerce and digital-media players are looking to hire CPG marketers. - Link
