The biggest digital shopping holiday in the world is 11/11 - Single’s Day in China. This year, @AlibabaTalk ($BABA)  had a record-breaking $9.3B in sales on 11/11, topping 2013’s $5.75B (and 2013’s five-day U.S Thanksgiving shopping holiday sales of $5.3B) . Furthermore, Alibaba’s 11/11 mobile sales increased from ~5% (2012), to 21% (2013), and 43% this year. Admaster found in a survey of China’s smartphone users that ~80% planned to make purchases on 11/11, a 34% increase over 2013. Awareness of 11/11 has also increased over last year by 12% (81.0% to 93.0%). - Link
