@Walmart partnered with the Weather Co. in order to find correlations between weather and store sales (on a Zip Code level). Walmart has been able to increase sales by taking advantage of these weather-purchase relationships to determine store-level merchandising and hyper-local digital advertising. For example, Walmart has tripled berry sales by serving up merchandising displays and digital ads for berries in Zip Codes where the weather is low wind with below 80 degrees temperatures (ideal berry weather). Walmart can now harness these correlations at a scale, and will tell certain partners they will only serve up their ads when it’s the ideal weather for their products. - Link
